Happy birthday to meeeee!

It’s my birthday today and I’m happy to be celebrating yet another year. I won’t deny that I’m surprised that 29 has arrived so quickly, and my looming 30th birthday is the motivation for my 30 by 30 list, but still, being alive is a privilege, an honour that I’m glad to have.

(Apparently with age comes excessive sentimentality.)

This will be one of my more lowkey birthdays (I’m resting up for next year): I’m going for dinner with family today, and perhaps on the weekend I’ll go for dinner with friends. There will be no clubbing this year—and I’m not sure if that officially makes me old, or just wise. Either way, I’m looking forward to it.
