The shower will be later today. The number of invitees went from a manageable 10-12 people to more than double that number (26 people have confirmed they will be attending), and as a result, a lot of the wonderful suggestions that I received will be too difficult to execute for a group of that size (age range: 21 to 83). I suspect we’ll be feeling pretty cramped too. So, I will have to save all of Winnie and Shannon’s wonderful ideas for the next intimate shower I plan (I’m still seeing if I can make the “guess the baby poo” game work though, because I think it’s so stinkin’ clever!).

So far, I have four activities planned and with the number of people coming I can’t accurately gauge how much time each will take. I figure we’ll need at least 30 minutes for the gift opening, in addition to the time needed for socializing and eating all that wonderful food, so I need enough in the game department to take up an hour to an hour and a half of time. I was going to lay out the itinerary here but I don’t want to give any attendees an unfair advantage!

The prizes are wrapped, the games are planned, the supplies are gathered in one place. I have located the punchbowl and gathered all the drink ingredients together. I have an idea for the guestbook but it has not been put together yet. Things could go very smoothly or start off on the right foot with me waking up at 1pm, only to realize I have more to do than I thought.

On that note, I better get to bed—it’s almost 4am!
