Lists + Goals + Jummy = ??
May 14, 2008
Despite the fact that accomplishing long-term goals isn’t exactly my forte, I’m going to do two challenges that sort of overlap with one another.
One is going to be a list of 30 things that I want to accomplish by the time I’m 30 years of age (for the record: I am a year and 35 days away from this blessed day). I really hope to get out of my shell of inactivity and laziness and really start moving on things that I should have done years ago. I cannot enter my third decade of life and feel like nothing has changed, because, quite frankly, that might be the death of me.
Then I’d like to expand the 30 by 30 list and take the 101 in 1001 challenge: 101 things in 1001 days. I think the hardest thing will be coming up with 101 things but once that hurdle is crossed, actually make these goals happen will be the next thing to trip me up. I’m just wondering if it’s cheating to put something that you’ve already planned to do on the list, you know, such as run/walk a 5K race.
I hope not because if it is then most of my other long term goals would not apply. I can’t wait to post my lists and share my adventures in accomplishing them!
On a morbid note: does anyone ever wonder if they dropped dead how their blog would be shut down or how news of your demise would be communicated? Would people just think you got bored of blogging and quit, like that? It seems sad that readers and friends you’ve made would never know what happened to you, especially if you blogged under a pseudonym.
(Um, yeah, sorry for that touch of morbidness.)

Hey girlie, how are you doing today!!
Lay low on the pressure on yourself girlie. You are not in competition with life, just live it! lol
Anyway on your last paragraph, thank God for Facebook. My sisters would let you know and you can come let blogsville know…you have been appointed to be my "let everyone in blogland know" person. lol
oh and my family do not know about my blog, you may tell them it exists when I'm no longer here and not a moment sooner.
PS: You do know who my sisters are on FB, if not let me know.
Yes, I wonder that too. It would be very strange.
Also, it's totally acceptable to put goals that you had already planned on accomplishing on your list. It's not like it requires that many brand new goals. The point is to get stuff done, no matter how long you've been meaning to do it.
I actually had two blogs I used to read, where both writers died of cancer. If it's Diaryland you can email Andrew, otherwise a comment post or something to that effect.
Thot of it too, maybe long absence……but, it doesn't sell well. Many have been absent from their blogs a long while, yet 'tis not cos they are dead.
Well, we may never know but, what matters more is how what we share today impacts on people. So, even with long absence…..the memories & thots remain.
Are you going to share your 101 things? I'd be very interested to read your list!
I guess you could write something into your will about your blog. It would include login info for your executor so they could post a notice. Kinda weird and also kinda totally practical.
Like other people said, I new one person through her blog who did die. Someone who knew posted it in the comments to her last post and word spread that way…
