Updates you didn’t know you were waiting for
March 11, 2008
My spam has reduced to very manageable levels and I didn’t have to do a thing.
One person who was having trouble commenting is now about to do so through no changes of my doing. If you were having trouble commenting before, won’t you give it a go? Maybe it’ll work for you too! A good entry to comment on would be the one where I profess my devotion to Secret Agent Josephine.
Upon closer association with the stuff, I’ve discovered that I hate (hate!) pomegranate flavoured/scented things. The shower gel is definitely a keeper (it’s a light scent that gets washed away anyway) but the body butter is too much: I put some on a couple of months ago and went to work and all day I kept asking my coworker what that smell was! She looked at me with puzzlement because she couldn’t smell anything (but of course it was all that I could smell). I was driving myself nuts until I came home and was changing into comfy clothing and bam! It hit me that I was the stinky one.
The smell is kind of oily…I don’t know how else to describe it. Perhaps it’s what happens when my body’s unique chemistry mixes with one of the ingredients in the body butter. Anyhow, if someone thinks they’d have better luck I have an unopened Body Shop body butter in Pomegranate up for grabs. Let me know in the comments if my description hasn’t turned you off completely.
I also bought pomegranate tea and it’s the same thing: it has an oily aftertaste. Maybe there’s something wrong with me? I’m thinking of giving the tea another try (fourth time’s the charm?) and then I’ll put it up for grabs in the kitchen at work.
That’s enough for today. Coming up is more about friendship, the abandoned series that I still have so much to say about.

Don't be hatin' the pomegranate! I have a bottle of Softsoap liquid handsoap that is pomegranate & mango and everytime I wash my hands I just love the scent. I think body butter would be a bit much though – I don't like a lot of scent and I think a bodyfull (especially my body!) would be way overpowering!
I love body butter and I love pomegranate…sooo…CAN I HAVE IT????
The term body butter is enough to turn me off. It makes me feel like something I'd spread on myself if I expected to be cooked.
Pomegranate everything is all the rage now, isn't it? I haven't tried to much pom-related stuff, because it hasn't thrilled me. But I don't hate it.
It's true, though, that scents react really differently with various people's body chemistry.
What are your favorite scents? That might be a good post topic.
Oh no! What a horrible feeling to realize that YOU are the source of the horrible odor you'd been noticing all day. Luckily it was a very specific distaste for you rather than a smell that everyone thinks is horrible, like dog poo. Still, I'm glad you figured it out!
