Things I am inordinately proud of
February 27, 2008
Or, Proof that I need to get on with this “being an adult” business so I can’t make lists of minutiae as listed below
- I have every paycheque I have received from my current employer (from November 25, 2005 to date). It makes me a bit sick to think that I failed to save even half of my take home pay though.
- I’m a pro when it comes to having blood drawn following a medical appointment. Sure I don’t like to look but I don’t cry out (anymore) and after the apparatus is connected I can look at the dark blood (always darker than I expect) as it fills up the little vials.
- My skills with loading and unloading the dishwasher. Unloading and loading the work dishwasher does not fill me with the same sense of pride because there are others at work who claim far more ownership of the dishwasher, so I feel compelled to do things their way.
- The interest that my other blog, written from the perspective of a Nigerian who’s caught between two cultures, has attracted from other Nigerians.
- My ability to write emails that say exactly what I want to say, both at work and outside of work.
- That I filed my taxes. For 2006. Yesterday.

Your OTHER blog?
Yeh Jummy…your other blog? How many blogs do you really have?
LOL @ 2006 taxes in 2008….way to go.
I think such lists are very adult. And I will refrain from asking about your other blog, not because I am too mature to probe but simply because the previous commenters have done it for me.
I applaud your tax filing status and wish that mine were also done. I usually wait until March for that dismal task. Perhaps if I thought we were getting a large refund I'd get them done sooner.
(Will this comment post???)
It always feel good to say: Look! I was able to do that! :)
2006 taxes? arent people doing 2007 ?
