Running out of time

February 9, 2008

I run a 5K in just over three months.

I should be scared and I am. My goal is to raise $500 and barring that, $250 (the goal that we’re asked to raise in order to participate) and I haven’t been so proactive on the fundraising front (help me out!). We get a tshirt for the race, and a picture of me in it was taken to be used as part of an e-flyer that I’m supposed to email to every human being I know, asking for their support. Sadly the picture is hideous (my stomach does not look good in white), so vanity is preventing me from distributing the e-flyer to anyone. Also: it doesn’t help that I find it awkward asking people for money, even if it’s not for me but for a very good cause like the Canadian Diabetes Association

So, I need your help. If you can spare some money, please donate. If not, or if you’re an ideas person, could you please give me a good idea on how to raise money? The deadline to turn in the cash is April 11, a mere two months away! I have to kick into high gear now.

(Oh, and getting back to my running program would help too, wouldn’t it?)

  1. Sell some of your magnets etc…?

  2. Jummy – I would love to donate to your cause before the deadline – $50 in exchange for a picture of you running the actual race. Deal?

  3. I am not good at the whole money raising thing. Sorry! I have no useful advice. But good luck with the 5K itself!
