Digital camera question
March 11, 2007
Has anybody run across this problem with their digital camera:
You turn it on and the screen is black (yes, it’s on picture taking mode). You snap a few pictures and they turn out black. After a minute or few your screen finally begins to display what you’re trying to photograph.
This happens after putting in fresh batteries so I’m a bit stumped. Also, it never used to happen before.
I’ll just dig up the receipt and warranty but I thought I’d check with my camera savvy peers first!
(PS: I have the Canon A620 if that helps).

Sorry, no idea – unless you're sensor is starting to crap out on you.
Remember those digital camera review sites I talked to you about in the past? I signed up on the forum with one of them once, just to ask a single question about a camera issue I had. You should do it, some pretty technowise people out there. Try http://www.dcresource.com.
You're lucky – at least you eventually get a picture. My camera went black like that and never ever got a picture on it again…. LOL. Still haven't got a new one yet!! Been over a year… dying for a camera in my hands again. Sony's released some new ones in the past few weeks that look interesting – will take months before they hit NZ shores though!
I haven't experience it with my camera but with others. I think it might be that the camera, after frequent picture taking, is recharging your flash, which might take a couple of seconds.
What did you end up doing with your camera?
