The girls

December 20, 2006

I had to test out flickr’s “Blog this” feature and what better picture to use than this awesome one of my sister (left), my mom (centre) and I (doing God knows what with my tongue).

This was taken back in June while waiting for the bus to take me to Maryland for the weekend.  It was a short trip but I did have a good time and I enjoyed meeting some of the members of the Nigerian forum that I belonged to.

I am no longer an active member on the forum [the owner and I had a difference of opinion and in a shocking move I actually left the forum and only peek in when someone insists that I must see something].  I say it’s shocking because I honestly thought that the forum would be a part of my life for years to come, just like blogging.  But the whole situation taught me some lessons about myself :  I’ve learned some interesting things about my quest for my “Nigerianness” via these forums and whether Nigerianness is something that a forum can actually help me find.  This is something I will be expanding on in the future.

As I tinker with flickr and Wordpress, I think the pro account is going to look more and more tantalizing!
