Which do I envy more: being a size 6 or having a man?

I read A Total Waste of Makeup (Kim Gruenenfelder) and since I am a fan of chicklit, I enjoyed the book. It starred a very typical chicklit heroine: a witty, late 20s/early 30s character who is physically above average, has a great job (ie self sufficient), smokes and/or drinks excessively and can’t find a man to settle down with (although ex-boyfriends and men to shag are a dime a dozen). And she has a love/hate relationship with her family! On some of these points I can certainly relate.
The author does a great job of bringing the book’s (many) characters to life in a way that you don’t lose track of who’s who at all. And I don’t think I’m ruining anything to share that the book has a happy ending; that’s part of the chicklit recipe.

Did she have a gay friend? Always the gay friend. I want one.
LOL, good point but no gay friends in this book…although her dad's sexuality keeps getting questioned all through the book…that was a pretty hilarious part of the book!
I tried to read that book last week but couldn't get into it so I moved on to another book. Have you read "Something Borrowed? or "Devil Wears Prada"? So good.
I'm reading it too! I'll let you know what I thought once I'm done…
