The Rule of Three (patent pending)
August 16, 2006
I got my first spam comment today…booo.
But that isn’t what this entry is about. This entry is about something that I have discovered. I call it the Rule of Three:
If you want to look dressed up and put together, even in jeans, make sure that you are wearing three clothing items other than your undergarments. As long as you have that layering piece underneath you look that much more polished.
Some examples:
* a shirt, a tshirt and pants
* a blouse, a cardigan and a skirt
* a tan ktop, a blazer some capris
It’s amazing what a difference that extra layering piece makes. It takes you from “I threw on the first two things that didn’t stink” to “I spent an actual moment thinking about what I was going to wear and what a difference it made!”
I’m sick of going to work in a shirt/tshirt/blouse and capris as if I’m a camp counsellor or something. There’s nothing wrong with dressing casually like that if you are comfortable and feel good but I feel so blah in my oufits (what a lofty term for the way I dress: outfit? pfah!). I never feel like I look well dressed, just dressed. Today I wore a tank top, a blouse and capris and I felt a lot better.
My next lesson: basic makeup. If I treat is as a Rule of Three I’m sure wearing just mascara, eye shadow and lipgloss that is a colour other than “clear” and from a company that is not called lypsyl will make all the difference.
Note: if and when this site disappears, it will only be temporary. I’m being disconnected briefly to save money.

it's not easy coming up with three things for a man. Does a belt count?
or a red hankerchief? (not in the back pocket!) Well I hope the transition
to the discouted website works out for ya!
this layering thing, does it apply to guys? And I guess it also depends on the kinda job you keep, too!?
